Family tourism company "Ruslan"

"Ruslan" is a family operated tourism company specialised in the Aksu-Djabagly nature reserve in Southern Kazakhstan and the surrounding region. Operating from the village of Jabagly at just a few kilometers from the nature reserve, we offer a wide range of tourism services.

Accommodations

Tourism company "Ruslan" has an in-house home stay facility for eight people. Larger groups of up to 25 people are no problem as they will be split among the other home stay addresses in a radius of 50 meter from the office. Home stay includes three meals. International dishes are standard, but Kazakh dishes will be served on request.

Want to sleep like a real Kazakh? We have original yurts as an alternative for our conventional accommodations. Living in a yurt will bring you closest to Kazakh culture. Yurts are available in Jabagly village and on a scenic location near the Aksu-Djabagly nature reserve. The availability depends on the season. Contact us for details.

Trips to the Aksu-Djabagly nature reserve

A jeep drive to the Aksu canyon, a one night stay in an observation house deep in the reserve or a week hiking with tents? You ask it and we organize it. Tourism company "Ruslan" has several years experience in helping tourists to get the most out of their visit to Southern Kazakhstan.

All necessary equipment can be rented. This includes tents, sleeping bags, petrol cooking stoves, lanterns and additional cooking equipment. For your safety, we don't use Chinese equipment. Cooking stoves and lanterns are from Coleman, tents are from the Dutch quality brand DWS.

English speaking guide needed? No problem, we will arrange it for you.

Horse riding

Horse riding is possible inside and outside the Aksu-Djabagly nature reserve. Just an hour, or a five day tour? No problem for us. We will provide you with the horses and equipment you need, and a professional guide who will show you the nicest locations in our region.

Trips to Turkestan, Aisha-Bibi and Otrar

Not only interested in nature but also in culture? Southern Kazakhstan offers a wide range of interesting places to visit. What about the Hodja Ahmed Yasavi mausoleum in Turkestan, built by the hero Timur? Or the even older but magnificently repaired Uyghur mausoleum of Aisha-Bibi near Taraz? We will organize the transport to these places, no matter if you want to visit it alone or with a large group.

Another location you have to see are the ruins of the city Otrar between Shymkent and Turkestan. This was one of the largest settlements in the world before it was completely destroyed by the Mongols. Don't miss the chance to visit the remnants of the place which some believe was the first city with a million inhabitants on this planet.

Folk music and local culture
